Which Are The Best Lip Balms For Sensitive Skin?
If you have sensitive eczema prone skin you already know that you need to be extra careful with which soaps and mositurising creams that you use on your skin, but what about lip balms?
Like most other products you use on your body, you need to take care that your lip balm doesn’t contain dye’s and fragrances that could cause irritation.
Some of our favorite lip balms for sensitive skin/eczema include:
- Vaseline. Yes good ol’ Vaseline works pretty well at keeping your lips moist. You only need a small dab and as a bonus it gives a shiny sheen so it looks like you have lip gloss on.
- Burt’s Bee’s. The Burt’s Bee’s lip balms are made from natural ingredients and include soothing ingredients such as honey which are good for eczema prone skin and lips.
- Honey. Speaking of honey, using it directly on your lips can help soothe and heal dry lips and is great for sensitive skins. Manuka Honey is best since it contains special antibacterial healing properties. Many eczema sufferers swear by it. Of course you can’t wear honey on your lips when walking down the street, but at home it’s a good solution.
Make Your Own Lip Balm
If you want to make your own lip balm so you can be extra sure that it contains natural ingredients then try mixing together one part beeswax with two parts vegetable oil (heat gently and then let set so it goes solid). It makes a pretty good balm.
You can even add some lanolin if you want to make it extra moisturising (but the lanolin does give it a strong odour which many people don’t like).
There you go. Our picks for the best lip balms for sensitive and eczema prone skin and lips.
