eczema soap

As you know probably already know, commercial soaps can be way too harsh for eczema sufferers, and often it can dry out your skin and cause reactions such as burning and itching. So often eczema sufferers avoid soap altogether. However that isn’t always possible (you do need to clean yourself!) so this article will show you how you can make your own eczema soap at home that is gently and soothing on your eczema skin.

First you will need to locate a soap making distributor for the soap base. You can use a regular melt and pour soap base, or a goat’s milk soap base. Goats milk has natural moisturizing properties that are great for making your own eczema soap. Since soap making is a popular hobby you can also find soap bases in many hobby and craft supply stores.

You will also need a quick trip the grocery store and health food store to pick up some avocado oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, palm oil and shea butter. All of these ingredients will make your soap ultra moisturizing and it is well known that coconut oil especially is great for eczema skin.

Take your soap base and melt it at low heat until it forms a think liquid consistency. Then mix in your other ingredients in the following proportions:

Avocado Oil: 1 part
Almond Oil: 0.8 part
Jojoba Oil: 0.5 part
Shea Butter: 0.5 part
Coconut Oil: 3 parts
Palm Oil: 2 parts

Blend everything together over a low heat until it is well combined then pour into molds. Once they have cooled place them in the freezer for another hour or so until they are hard.

Then you can use these just like you would regular soap.
